Manquant de main-d\u2019\u0153uvre, ils firent venir des travailleurs indiens pour cultiver les plantations.<\/em> <em>Concernant l&rsquo;\u00e9ducation, les Britanniques favoris\u00e8rent plut\u00f4t les Tamouls, ce qui cr\u00e9a des conflits entre les autorit\u00e9s et les Cinghalais. En 1944, pour diminuer les \u00e9meutes cinghalaises, les Britanniques leurs conf\u00e9r\u00e8rent une grande partie du pouvoir. Les Tamouls devinrent \u00e0 leur tour m<\/em>arginalis\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le Sri Lanka est devenu ind\u00e9pendant en 1948 (en m\u00eame temps que les britanniques). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les discours racistes et les violences entre les cinghalais et les tamouls ont continu\u00e9 apr\u00e8s l&rsquo;ind\u00e9pendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><u><strong>-L\u2019explosion d\u2019une guerre civile de 26 ans<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcS2R0RxxzgatQZoo-bY2jwuYFHCIgb6DQJzxw&amp;s\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:235px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le 23 juillet 1983, une attaque des LTTE (=tigres tamouls) contre une unit\u00e9 militaire Srilankaise \u00e0 Jaffna co\u00fbte la vie \u00e0 treize soldats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le gouvernement autorise alors le transport des corps \u00e0 Colombo pour des fun\u00e9railles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Durant celles-ci, des violences \u00e9clatent&nbsp;: les Cinghalais ont attaqu\u00e9 la communaut\u00e9 Tamoule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cela a d\u00e9clench\u00e9 une guerre civile qui durera jusqu\u2019en 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>-Les violences sexuelles envers les femmes pendant la guerre.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Les femmes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 victimes de violences sexuelles par l\u2019arm\u00e9e. Quelques membres des forces gouvernementales du Sri Lanka auraient commis des violences sexuelles dans les cas de d\u00e9tention dans des locaux militaires, de police, ou lors des contr\u00f4les \u2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Dans les camps des r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s, l\u2019arm\u00e9e aurait continu\u00e9 de commettre des violences sexuelles envers les femmes, parfois en promettant de les aider en \u00e9change de leur silence.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><u><strong>-Bilan de la guerr<\/strong><\/u><\/em><em><u><strong>e<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La guerre civile a fait environ 100 000 morts :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Environ 1 500 morts : soldats indiens et plusieurs dizaines de milliers de civils.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Environ 1 000 morts : policiers sri-lankais.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>21 066 morts : soldats sri-lankais.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>27 639 morts : combattants des Tigres tamouls.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Une grande partie des victimes \u00e9taient des civils. Selon plusieurs rapports internationaux, dans les derniers mois du conflit, le gouvernement a rejet\u00e9 les appels au cessez-le-feu et des centaines de civils auraient \u00e9t\u00e9 tu\u00e9s chaque jour pendant plusieurs mois. Les estimations varient entre 40 000 et 70 000 morts civils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Au total, le nombre de victimes est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement estim\u00e9 entre 80 000 et 100 000 morts \u00e0 la fin de la guerre en 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><u><strong>-Aujourd\u2019hui<\/strong><\/u><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La communaut\u00e9 tamoule demeure fragilis\u00e9e par les cons\u00e9quences de la guerre. De nombreuses organisations d\u00e9noncent encore l\u2019absence de poursuites pour certaines exactions commises durant le conflit.
